I was just sitting on the front porch today with my laptop Tweeting and listening to BLIP.fm when I noticed the flowers under my flay pole. It seemed like they were looking straight up watching the flag. This shot is from their perspective.

This shot came out perfect. It’s a truck heated smoke stack (exhaust pipe) at night in a cloud of purple smoke under a street light. No special filters, tricks or editing. This is the actual photo.

This photo has not been doctored-up. The clouds look like they were painted in but that’s just the way it turned out. It was the fall of 2006. The flag belongs to SlipNOT® on Bellevue St. in Detroit.
