Smoky Stack

This shot came out perfect. It’s a truck heated smoke stack (exhaust pipe) at night in a cloud of purple smoke under a street light. No special filters, tricks or editing. This is the actual photo.

Detroit Corner Business

Here’s a far too common sight in many areas of urban Detroit. The corners of Mack Ave. and Beaufait St. on Detroit’s south east side. This partiular working girl was one of a handful that worked this corner in 2006.

I think this is one of my better photographs. It was a very hot summer day in Detroit. It may not please the water company or fire department but these folks found a little relief from the heat while having a blast. 2007

Bold History

Detroit’s abandoned train station was once the Michigan Central Station buseling with life. The windows are gone and years of weather and vandalism are apparent but the massive building defianty stands strong. A part of Detrit’s history that refuses to bow down.

Some might think this is a sad photo but I’m pretty proud of it. It captures the real life deterioration that Detroit’s been facing for years.

This was shot in the summer of 2007 on Gratiot and Mt. Elliot.
