Back To The Basics On Easter Sunday

It’s Easter Sunday and we just got back from Church. I don’t normally attend church but decided to do something different this Easter.

We attended Iron Creek Community Church in Manchester, MI. It’s a little bit of a drive but Pastor Scott Guenther and the congregation made it worth the trip. Pastor Scott is a long time friend of the family. We had many family members there today including my Wife, both Sons, My youngest daughter and her husband and their unborn child, Two Brother-In-Laws, a Sister-In-Law and several friends. It was a nice time.

Arson Victim

In July 2006 one of my friend’s home was destroyed by an arson attack in South West Detroit. Arsonists set the crack house next door on fire in the middle of the night and it spread to his house in minutes. He, his wife, daughter and two Grandchildren were sleeping. They made it out just in time. Their home and everything in it was a total loss.

Bold History

Detroit’s abandoned train station was once the Michigan Central Station buseling with life. The windows are gone and years of weather and vandalism are apparent but the massive building defianty stands strong. A part of Detrit’s history that refuses to bow down.
